Intro To The Plains Zebra

A Plains Zebra
The Plains Zebra, way back when, were used to pull the Roman gladiators special carts called chariots because they are related to the horse, so they made the zebra do the horses job. Later when the Europeans first settled in Africa, the Plains Zebra was used to pull plows on their farms, but the zebras didn't like those jobs, so humans then decided to leave the zebras alone and let them roam around the plains of Africa. The lifespan of a Plains Zebra is about 15-25 years old living in the wild and about 30 years living in zoos, national parks, or reserves. Most foals "baby zebras" are born in the spring. Foals have brown and white stripes. Female zebras become adults at age two and males reach adulthood when they are five or six years old. The conservation status for the Plains Zebra is "least concern" meaning they are not in danger. Some main predators of the Plains Zebra are: Hyenas, Leopards, and Lions. Those animals are the Plains Zebras worst nightmare.
